March 23
The Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce will host a Table Top 2011 Expo and Business Networking Event from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Log Cabin banquet and Meeting House, 500 Easthampton Road, Holyoke.
Make new business contacts and network with colleagues from four area Chambers. The table fee is $100 and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited to one table per business. Electricity is limited and available on a first-come, first served basis. Tickets are $5 each in advance from the chamber, or obtain $10 at the door. Snow date is March 30.

The Massachusetts Small Business Development Center will offer “The High Performance Business Owner” from 9 a.m. to noon at Westfield Bank, 141 Elm St. Westfield.

Hampden Bank is hosting a series of business seminars.
From 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the Storrowton Tavern in West Springfield, the seminar will be for women in business and women professionals: “How to balance career, home, life.”
The guest speaker will be Martha S. LaCriox, executive vice president, chief human resources officer, The Yankee Candle Company. Inc.

The trademark blue neon “Q” at the corner of Main & Boland Way will be shut off as well as all other non essential exterior and interior lights in observance of Earth Hour from Saturday, March 26, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, Tower Square will join more than a thousand facilities worldwide in a show of support for the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour, by turning off all non-essential lights.
Earth Hour is a movement that unites cities, businesses, schools, organizations and individuals around the globe by calling for a one-hour electric light shut-down in a symbolic and unified call for action on climate change. Associated industries of Massachusetts and the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts will host a logistics forum at 1:45 p.m. at the Sheraton Monarch Place Hotel, Springfield.
The cost is $25. The event will feature Curtis Spencer, and panels on Air and Sea Port, Massport, Bradley International Airport, Port of Albany, the Connecticut Ports, CSX, Norfolk Southern, Pioneer Valley Railroad and the Mass Motor Truck Association. The Massachusetts Chamber of Business & Industry has formed the Western Mass Chamber Presidents Forum in an effort to address concerns voiced by some businesses about a regional voice, and power in numbers.
The first meeting is scheduled for 7:30 a.m., hosted by the Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce. It will be held at Westfield Bank, 114 Elm St. The forum will meet regularly to discuss such issues as membership development, economic development, legislative issues and any other topics of common chamber leaders.

March 31
The forum “Life Sciences in Western Massachusetts: Advancing the Next Generation” will now take place March 31. It had been scheduled for Jan. 27, but postponed due to a snow storm. If you are able to attend this new event date, visit the online RSVP form.
